Desks
This series of three desks arose from a game of broken telephone I played with some students in an English class. The game involves whispering a message from person to person, until the last person loudly declares the resulting – often muddled – message. In this instance, one student’s definition for communication resulted in “I like apples in my ears.” Although the mangled message was likely (at least in part) an intentional miscommunication for humour or even an assertion of power, the process led me to question transfer, iteration and change – resulting in my first desk, curriculum desk: 2007-.
